New Psychosocial Research Available On Children At Risk in Haiti

Friday, December 14, 2012

We see great value in expanding the body of knowledge within each of our directives.  This is why we are excited to announce the completion of a new research study that pertains to our directive to prevent and alleviate child domestic servitude in Haiti.  Our good friend Dr. Cara L. Kennedy has wrapped up her research project that seeks to understand the problems of restavèk children.

She has produced two stellar reports: one which describes the qualitative assessment of children in servitude and the other documents the development and testing of a locally adapted psychosocial assessment instrument.  We are grateful to host both of these documents in English and Creole under the resources section on our website.  At the very least, I would encourage you to read through the executive summary and conclusions of each report.  Please be sure to spread these around to those who could put this information into practice.
